And that’s a both a conscious and subconscious act since we have definitely progressed into a truly visual Instagram era.

That’s why I wrote this post to set you on the right track to creating and customizing your own gorgeous Instagram theme/feed, that will allow you to attract both brands and potential followers. So without further ado, check out my top 7 photo/video editing apps every content creator should own.

Adobe Lightroom CC

Available both on Android and iOS

Price: Free mobile version (limited features)

This is as professional as you get with mobile editing. With the corresponding desktop app, Adobe Lightroom CC is one of the best on the market when it comes to photo-editing.

You can fix specific colors, brightness, exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows etc. You can also make your photos more vibrant, or saturated, as well as warmer and colder. There is also a “curve” option that allows you to play a little more with these options combined, for the best effect.

What’s also specific about Adobe Lightroom CC is that they have a variety of beautiful profile presets, that range from vintage, to modern, to black & white styles.

But the best thing about Adobe Lightroom CC is definitely the fact that you can save your custom adjustments as a preset, and apply them to other photos stored to your account. In that way, you ensure there is a unique feel when it comes to your photographs.

Tip: Do you find yourself to be a good photo editor? You can then create your own presets, and then sell them to others on Instagram!

Snapseed

Available both on Android and iOS

Price: Free mobile version

While Lightroom offers amazing opportunities for specific element changes, Snapseed finds its strengths in other cool features.

For example, besides the standard cropping, contrast, brightness and whole typical photo editing embargo, Snapseed also allows you to remove unwanted objects from your images by ‘healing’. That would be one of the Snapseed’s strongest suits.

Also, you can add text, all kinds of different oldie/grunge effects and overlays, frames and more. Additionally, there is an option to create a selective focus on your image, allowing it to look more professional.

                                                                  Before                                                 After

Some of my favorite presets are M5, J5, HB1, HB2, C5, C1, A6 & A4.

FaceTune and FaceTune 2

Available both on Android and iOS

Price: Free mobile version (limited features)

With FaceTune 2, you can quickly and easily reshape your facial features, remove blemishes, and whiten teeth for a nicer-looking smile.

Besides being the leader in this niche of editing apps, it also offers nice glam light effects, that you can use as a cute touch up to your photos.

You just have to play around with what works and try not to over do it.
I use Facetune particularly for my makeup looks. To whiten the background so the makeup can pop more, smoothen my blemish, whiten my eyes, enhance the detail of my lashes, eye-shadow, brows etc

Canva

Available both on Android and iOS

Price: Free mobile version (limited features)

Canva would be one of the best free alternatives to Adobe Photoshop. It is more than perfect for those who are not so design-savvy but still need to create campaign type of designs.

There are thousands of template designs that you can utilize to express your brand and your vision. You can create your own templates too, and import elements you need to brand your content. This app creates professional-type of content. I create my E-books, Youtube thumbnail, Blog featured images on here.

InShot

Available both on Android and iOS

Price: Free mobile version (limited features)

Although more oriented towards editing videos (and one of the best ones on the market for that), it is still worth the mentioning even for photo editing. InShot has a variety of filters and basic photo-editing features. You can add fun text, stickers and overlays. And it’s two in one, as it has even better possibilities when it comes to editing videos, such as adding music.

I majorly use it to resize as well, create collages and it’s a good tool for cropping videos from 9:16 to 1:1 or 4:5 for Instagram

Mojo

Available both on Android and iOS

Price: Free mobile version (limited features)

Although more oriented towards editing exciting animated insta stories

Videos stand out on Instagram Stories because they’re quick, engaging, and fun. But let’s be realistic – branded videos can be a lot of work. Luckily, you don’t have to stress too much because apps like Mojo make this a walk in the park.

Through Mojo, you’ll have access to more than 100 video templates, all of which are 100% editable. There are also hundreds of different text variations to choose from, all of which are fully animated and customizable.

Mojo is also constantly innovating, coming out with new templates and text styles every month.

You can always pay for a Pro Version but the possibilities are endless on the free version too.

You obviously do not have to download each of these apps to your phone. Pick and choose from the collection depending on your needs and aspirations. Think of your Instagram goals and what you actually want to achieve with your aesthetics. Honestly I have all the apps and I constantly reach for them.
