If you know me, I have been an advocate of side hustles for 5years now. Ever since my final year in Uni, I understood that having a side hustle is a great way to earn a living and meet a savings goal also can be used to fund shopping splurges like in my case buying skincare, makeup and gadgets.
A side hustle job doesn’t replace your full-time job or your business. It’s meant to be done in addition to your main source of income. Typically, a side hustle job will be done after work, on the weekends, or whenever you have some free time. You can even work on your side hustle job during a lunch break or on your commute to or from work especially if you are like me residing in a mega city crippled with traffic and long commute hours.
Here are a few I recommend if you’ll like to earn an extra income on the side.
Business owners especially SME’s regularly need help with a variety of tasks. From social media management to website updates.
Virtual assistants for blogging businesses, for example, help with a range of tasks including website graphics, podcast show notes, social media postings, and preparing emails. This is great for evenings and weekends, as many online business owners don’t care when tasks are completed.
BECOME A FREELANCE WRITER
Write articles for other people. If you have a passion for writing, you could help out other bloggers or even become a ghost writer for a well-known author or website owners to help them optimize their SEO. Use sites like Freelancer, Upwork and others to advertise your services.
BECOME A PERSONAL SHOPPER
Want to shop for others? You could effectively become a personal shopper. If you live in city or developed area, then personal shopping services are in high demand in your area. Or if you have eye for detail and are experienced in sourcing quality, rare items. You can source wholesale shoes and cheap clothes online.
Good at writing resumes? Use sites like LinkedIn and other professional sites to advertise your resume writing services. Do a few for free to kick off the start and get some good reviews and referrals.
Do you genuinely enjoy organizing trips, planning itineraries? Does helping other people plan their trips give you a sense of satisfaction? If so, become a travel consultant.
Aside from travel bloggers who share their personal travel experiences and actually earn through sponsorships and ads, travel consultants can create exceptional travel experiences for their clients and earn a living while doing so.
BE A TOUR GUIDE
If you live in a vacation destination or CBD, you consider becoming a tour guide. You could even offer your services for free and then ask for a tip at the end, drawing more people into touring with you.
